Easy Pico de Gallo recipe

So, our video for this week was simple and fresh pico de gallo. Unlike the guac we did a few weeks ago, you can't really do this one in front of your guests, as it really benefits from sitting in the fridge for a few hours before serving. You can totally customize the onions, peppers, and tomatoes in this recipe, but the lime juice and cilantro are really what make the flavour profile! If you're not a fan of cilantro and you want to use something like basil or parsley, you're moving into bruschetta territory

Learned it as a prep cook at Applebees when I was 19. Summer staple, right?
And ohhhh sooo much better if all of the ingredients come from your own garden!
Usually I grow all but the lime. Only have tomato and jalepeno this year.

I have about 12 diff herbs in the backyard but no cilantro! I sowed seed and it didn't germ and i never resowed or bought a transplant. 😞

Hubby (Chef Caleb) learned pico from working in the restaurant industry in Houston, TX. Worked with a lot of Mexicans, as you can imagine! There was almost always pico as part of the kitchen meal.
