Since it's my birfday, the RG is grilling those little lamb things they call "lollipops." They will have various herbs, like rosemary, marjoram, plus garlic.
There is also shrimp salad with dill. Very large shrimp, and it has cream sauce. There is also a very colorful salad made of red pepper and endive. It also had oranges in it.
Dessert is vanilla ice cream, white cake, and fresh raspberries with mint.
Big pitcher of sangria. Outdoor dining. Hope to take some pics and post them tomorrow.

Our water was shut off most of the day, so I kept things simple. Ravioli, garlic bread, salad.
I bought some halvah for a midnight treat!

Summer is main dish salad time here. Tonight's the old favorite black beans, corn, tomato and avocado on leaf lettuce. The lettuce and tomatoes are local. We ate all the corn on the cob from the Farmers Market already, so used frozen corn in the salad.

(17,338 posts)A tomato sandwich on a sourdough roll with roast beef, lettuce and some mayo.
Beans I cooked yesterday on the side.
This particular batch of beans seems extra good. I used concentrated ham stock from the freezer and a cut up ham steak. I cut the carrots and celery larger than usual and the onions coarse chopped as usual. Seasoning was garlic, bay, thyme, black pepper and chili powder. There is just a hint of the chili powder which I don't usually put in these beans.
Happy "birfday" NJCher and wishes for many more.

(68,217 posts)We are having chicken, ham or corned beef sandwiches on a variety of breads...rolls, gluten free for me and DD...hubs and sis have wheat options. made a big salad with pepitos and dried cranberries...also home made ranch or balsamic salad dressings. I put lettuce, tomato, red onion, Muenster cheese cranberry mustard and homemade mayo on my sandwich. I also made potato salad and have chips and a veggie platter. We have cherries and cookies for dessert. I am going to Georgia tomorrow for a family reunion so kept it simple. Have a great day...and happy birthday again!
