Cooking & Baking

I'm so excited about dinner tonight. The RG went to the store, cooked all this up earlier, and the fragrances are floating through the house and out the window, where I'm raking leaves.
Bone-in veal roast. Also a baked pasta dish: fresh linguini, ham, onions, and peas in Bechemel sauce. I've tasted this (sneak tasted it, covering my "tracks" by smoothing it out with a fork so it doesn't look like I tampered with it). It is sooooooo good!
Fresh spinach from my garden. He cooked this; I wanted it raw but too late now.
Dessert is sliced pears, red grapes, and Brie.
Of course there will be various wines and we have a new bottle of Drambuie for those who are into that sort of thing (not me, I even drink no-alcohol wine).

(17,434 posts)Bean soup from yesterday with choice of fresh cornbread or grilled cheese on sourdough bread.
I'm fibbing, I'm going to have cornbread crumbled in my soup and a grilled cheese (Havarti).
FLFC had a medley of chicken thigh, beef and ham. He was stressed after a bath and is sleeping it off in a warm spot. He is not available for comment tonight.
He goes for his teeth work in the morning so he can't have a late night snack. I am sure there will be a discussion about this with him.

(32,973 posts)I brought home the brisket on bun and the banana pudding for dinner. I put together a beef stew and it's in the crockpot for tomorrow and some to freeze. I'm finding the urge to make and freeze meals for quick and microwave meals for the dark winter months.
