We're going out to dinner at the place with the skyline view of NYC. Not sure what I'll have so will post back later.

(32,971 posts)Mine has stale garlic naan in it. I made the soup on Thursday, today I thinnned it a bit with chicken stock, more red pepper flakes and 3 splashes of Texas Petes vinegar sauce (no bennies to me from them, I just like that in tomato soups). A cold nightand soup.
From wiki..."
Ribollita is a famous Tuscan bread soup, a hearty potage made with bread and vegetables.[1] There are many variations but the main ingredients always include leftover bread, cannellini beans, lacinato kale, cabbage, and inexpensive vegetables such as carrot, beans, chard, celery, potatoes and onion. Its name literally means "reboiled".

(130,895 posts)Sorry about accident; my '93 toyo wagon also 'totaled' by a teen backing out of parking space into me/my driver's side door a few months ago. Old car, replacement parts not available, and her insurer didn't bother to investigate. I'm still driving my old car, works fine but door doesn't look so good.

(1,706 posts)A not-sweet cornmeal pancake topped with crumbled smoked salmon, a poached egg and Hollandaise sauce, garnished with green onion. Broccoli for a side, and an apple coffee cake I made earlier for dessert. Kind of a twenty-things-going-on-at-once meal, but fortunately my son made the Hollandaise, which he's very good at.
This is served at the weekend brunch of the Hotel Charmante in La Crosse, Wisconsin where we were a couple weeks ago. Their version had smoked trout, but smoked salmon was delicious too.

(13,569 posts)That sounds confusing!
I skillet roasted frozen corn and sliced zucchini in cast iron skillet with diced Hatch chili.
Simultaneously, I roasted some sungold tomatoes in a hot oven.
While that was going on, I sliced jack cheese and cheddar cheese, sliced some scallions.
Then I layered corn tortillas in a pie plate with the corn-squash mix, cheese, black olives, scallions, with some green tomatillo salsa drizzled over each layer. I spooned the roasted tomatoes over all, and added some enchilada sauce over top.
There were about eight layers total.
Baked it at 400 degrees for about half an hour.
Served with avocado and lime. Forgot to buy sour cream.
Fudgsicles for dessert. No sugar added, 40 calories and deep fudge taste. :-P

(2,302 posts)Her favorite: pasta with roasted red pepper sauce. Heroin chicken (crusted in seasoned Parmesan cheese). Caesar salad and five-grain Italian bread.
First stayover visit with the new fiance; we're going to the good brunch place in Indian Harbor Beach tomorrow, and I might have to blow off my low-carb regimen...that place is sooo good. And we need to start planning the Thanksgiving menu.
