Going out to a bar & grille type restaurant tonight. I think I'll order Thai chili chicken wings. My other option is the corned beef and cabbage sliders.
I want a salad but even though this place is good, I won't be happy with their salad. If I'm still hungry when I come home, I'll help myself to a salad that's already made with my spring mix.

(15,092 posts)I threw a couple of potatoes in the oven with the meatloaf. Vegetable to be decided later.
The secret to a great meatloaf, in my opinion, is to keep the mix wet and add plenty of umami. Tonights umami is browned onions, Worcestershire sauce, liquid aminos, and good old-fashioned Heinz ketchup.

(38,595 posts)onions, garlic, grated zucchini, grated carrots, etc. all sautéed in some olive oil and then allowed to cool. Grated cheese and some spice (rosemary and sage usually), of course and egg. I'll even add a touch of red wine of the mix isn't moist enough.
I refuse to add ketchup to my meatloaf. I like to serve mine w/ brown mushroom gravy.

(12,254 posts)I was mightily comforted by my dinner last night, as was my spouse. Mr. Pup hummed yum-yum-yum all the way through!

So when my guy goes "mmm," I got a Lidia and I know it's good.

(12,254 posts)Mr. Pup helps out greatly in the kitchen since I have limited mobility in my hands. He was the 9th of 10 children and he appreciates the beautiful food we prepare every day.

(38,595 posts)orange and yellow bell peppers stuffed with: sausage, brown rice, onions, garlic, carrots, celery, black olives and Italian seasoning. There were a few spoonfuls of pasta sauce left over from yesterday so I added that too. Grated parm on top near the end of cooking.
Steamed broccoli.
