Appetizer: Asian pasta dish with clams and shrimp. Used garlic chives from the RG's trip to the Asian supermarket this a.m. Serving with some interesting looking twisty Chinese noodles.
Pork shank, braised, but in the oven. Using red pepper flakes, yellow chile, for seasoning. Also cooked with vegetables such as carrot, onion. I tasted it: it's very tender and spicy.
Broccoli rabe.
Dessert: Rice pudding with blueberries and toasted almonds; spicy chai tea.

(38,557 posts)I made them last week, but we didn't eat them all so I had put them in the freezer. There was a onion/mushroom brown gravy, but there wasn't much of that left, so I augmented it w/ cream of mushroom soup and a little water.
Served that over pasta and had some steamed veg (carrots and broccoli).
