It's going to be a vegetarian buffet tonight. What has me most excited is the plate of zucchini layered with tomato and mozzarella plus herbs. The zucchini are sliced lengthwise and lightly breaded and sauteed. In between are the sliced tomatoes and herbs, which are basil and garlic chives.
There are a couple salads, one made with shredded daikon radish, carrots, and red radish. The dressing has sesame oil in it, plus there are toasted sesame seeds sprinkled over the top. There is also baby arugula with olive oil and lemon plus shredded parmesan and toasted pine nuts.
Sliced shiitake mushrooms with melted cheese on top.
Avocado spread, which is mashed avocado with tomato, lemon juice, herbs, onion, and the usual salt & pepper. This is served with crackers.

(55,007 posts)mini colorful potatoes and ??? don't have much for salad but baby spinach and cherub tomatoes so that might be it with some onion and a vinaigrette.

(22,035 posts)We've had a tough day. This morning, we came to the difficult decision that our last pet, Lucia the Cat, had to be euthanized. We made the appointment, spent a little time with her and took her to the vet's. Sadly, she died before we got there but at least she was comforted in the Landlady(!)'s arms.
I'm making a chicken pot pie and a mixed salad with greens from our garden and a fresh tomato. Lime sherbet for dessert.
