What's for Dinner, Wed., Aug. 14, 2019

Tuna steaks tonight, fixed Asian style with sesame oil, soy, and sprinkled with toasted sesame seed.

Beet greens with rosemary, orange, and toasted walnuts. A few medallions of goat cheese on the side.

Dessert: last of the chocolates, she sobbed.

It’s what I do when I can’t think of what to do. I keep small bits of marinated proteins in sandwich bags in the freezer, which I get out and stir fry with whatever I find in the vegetable drawer. A slug of Trader Joe’s Soyaki sauce and maybe some chili paste and I’m all set to go. Sometimes I add noodles, sometimes I serve it over rice.

like Bangkok peanut sauce. Puff it up with rice flavored with soy sauce.

We call it 'wok food'.

sirloin tips w/ a honey pecan spice rub, pouch potatoes

steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots.

(Someone else made dinner here tonight. It wasn't very good. Boneless chicken breasts baked in Italian salad dressing, some kind of boxed rice, and canned corn. Had I not sliced a tomato it would have been the most boring looking plate ever.)
