Living near Boulder, we get a ton of kombucha brands, probably tried most of them. My fav has to be Rowdy Mermaid. All the flavors are good with peach thyme being my go to. Brew Dr. is also up there.

Just really refreshing.
I limit myself to 1 bottle every evening. Otherwise I'd go broke.
I have a standing order at Natural Grocers so I don't have to count on luck for it to b e in stock.

(35,758 posts)is peach thyme?
Sounds good; if I can find a peach thyme flavor around here, I will try it. If that's not what you are saying, what flavor is Rowdy Mermaid?
My favorite is blueberry ginger with a lot of fizz. I drink it from a stemmed wine glass. I have at least a bottle a day. That's a $60 a month habit if I get it on sale, otherwise more like $75-80. I love it so much. I will admit I am totally addicted.
Therefore, today I am making my first batch of six bottles. I should have done this a long time ago, but damn, it takes a lot of stuff one doesn't have in the pantry to make it: a scoby, notably. Instead of getting a scoby, I got a Fermentaholics Organic Kombucha scoby With Twelve Ounces of Starter Tea" through Amazon. You don't really need ph strips but they are recommended. Ay yi yi. Who has all this stuff? Plus I had to get a Brita because we drank mostly sparkling Italian water, not tap water. Just those supplies alone were $43.
However, I dismiss it all by saying it's much healthier to drink than wine, and I currently consume -0- alcoholic beverages. Only kombucha and homemade ginger or chamomile tea for me. I feel great!
