Doctored-up frozen pizza. Adding: ground beef, onions, garlic, bell pepper, and extra cheese.

I have a batch of brownies in the oven for dessert.

I think I’m getting close to perfecting homemade pizza crust. Today’s pizza was topped with mushrooms, green peppers, and sliced black olives.

I put some boneless skinless thighs in the crockpot with taco seasoning and a little tomato juice, then shredded the meat when it was done. While the rice cooked, I diced tomato, sliced avocado and black olives, shredded cheese and cut up limes and some cilantro.

From Milk Street, latest issue.

Ingredients: Portabella mushrooms, loose sausage, shallots, garlic, butter, S/P, cinnamon, crushed tomatoes, red wine, chicken stock, Pappardelle.

Large skillet and large pot.

Food fit for the Gods.
