I had a messy accident with the coffee maker. When I tried to pull out the carafe, the filter holder stuck to it and dumped the grounds and hot coffee all over the kitchen counter. Not a great way to start the day.

I'll have lunch early, probably a BLT with Swiss cheese.

8. There was an ice storm in Ohio Christmas 2004

The automatic coffee pot with the thermos had just finished dripping when the power went off for the next several days. That hot coffee that morning was a blessing.
