Help Wanted: Architect needed for Sedona, AZ remodel and expansion.

Hey Gang,

My partner and I are going to write an offer on a home in Sedona, AZ in the coming days. We are looking at this great little home that probably has not seen an update in 35+ years! We are looking to transform the home, literally adding 1000+ square ft, possibly a second story. We essentially want to change the layout of the floor plan.

The style of the home is typical ranch, which we are looking to change to a split floor plan. The design we are going for is Territorial, commonly referred to as "Santa Fe" style.

Looking for an Architect specializing in this style, which has been very difficult to find. I found exactly what I am looking for in a Design/Builder in Santa Fe, NM, but I am pretty sure she only contracts projects in Santa Fe.

Here is an example of what I am looking for: http://www.woodsbuilders.com/portfolio/traditional/index.html

Thanks everybody! I'd love to hear your thoughts/responses!

i'd start going through the Phoenix phone book, (well Scottsdale actually)

i'm sure there's someone there who won't mind driving 45 minutes up the hill to help your project

The challenge is finding an Architect who has mastered Territorial style who is also gifted in proportional accuracy. I've ran across about 5 architects who work in traditional territorial style, but I kind of feel like they are not as developed as what I am searching for.

I am almost leaning towards hiring a local architect and using some of the influences of the builder in Santa Fe that I really like.
