Related: About this forumA new method of applying polyurethane to stained wood
(New for me, anyway)
I finally got tired of subpar results from laying the wood flat.
Two issues I always seem to have:
(1) The side edges always seem to get drips
(2j Somehow the polyurethane goes underneath the board and then there are globs of it that have to be taken care of before they dry - otherwise I'm screwed.
My solution:
Put the boards lengthwise vertically and apply the urethane that way (bottom to top).
I believe this will really help a lot with the issues I've had before.
(Pardon my messy work area.. and I really should've put some sticks underneath them)

especially if they havent had time to become rock hard.
In any event, thanks for the recommendation to stand pieces on end.
