My yellow rose bush is blooming with red roses.

A few years ago I planted three rose bushes, one red, one yellow, one hot pink. They are about 15' apart from each other. Last year the pink one went red. This year the yellow one has gone red. Is this common? My grandmother had roses & I've never heard of this. Red roses are my least favorite of all.

on edit: Googling root stock now. How interesting.

2. That sounds like the root stock, which is a deep rose color.

See if the blooms are originating below the base of the plant. Cut them off.

especially on the red roses, I prefer yellow roses.

I've never heard of a whole rose bush having a change in the color of all the blooms on the bush. Have you checked with the horticulturist at the local, Cooperative Extension, or Botanical Gardens, if you have one?

Let us know what you find out. Thanks, for your interesting post.
