Watering

It's been hot and dry the past few days in the Western Finger Lakes region. I have been watering my plants every night after the sun goes down, but tonight my allergies are really bothering my sinuses and giving me vertigo and I really don't feel like doing it, is one missed night of watering going to hurt them?

This allows the soil and the plants to absorb more water because in the heat of the day there is more evaporation occurring at the soil surface. Watering at night encourages the development of mildew and fungal diseases because the leaves don't dry out. During extremely hot weather you should water daily or every other day.
