Last night, while on duty, i met the most sweet, awesome dog.

He was a lab mix, belonging to a homeless guy. He was really hungry, he was nozling everyone in the shopping mall. He was the sweetest, most awesome dog ever! The only food I had with me was cat kibbles. He was jumping up and down as I opened the box. :'( obviously the small box wasn't enough for him. :'( his "owner" was extremely enebriated.
I came back with dig food a few hours later. Both dog and homeless guy were gone.
I will try again tonite, I have a big bag of dog food in my patrol car

If your job involves a patrol car. You may have chosen the nick 'darkangel', but you sound to me as if you might be an angel of light nevertheless. Continue doing good but don't let your guard down. We need all the good angels we can get, here on earth helping out. Bless you.

Is this an okay time to share a quick story about something that happened in NYC when I lived there? During a terrible blizzard, a couple of patrolmen checking a backstreet dead end alley found an abandoned newborn baby who was still alive for one reason only. A starving German Shepherd had curled up around the child to protect it. I don't need to tell you what many a starving dog would've done. The patrolmen tried to coax the dog into the car but it jumped up and limped away. I'll never forget that dog and can't help wondering just a little if it might've been 'more than just a dog'.

Not that many of us aren't the same, but to carry around cat kibble or dog food is just such a small touch that says so much about you. I hope you find them again.

it would be great if you could find out about shots for this dog. Ask your Animal Control if there is a program. The best thing you can do for this dog is to make sure he stays well. Without shots anything can happen and the dog may suffer for it. You could try asking at your local Vets or Animal Shelter if they have a food donation program.
I don't mean to be pushy but a healthy, neutered dog with a regular food source has a better chance of staying with his owner and staying alive.
