Pix of Brigid AND Molly Maguire at last!

All but the bottom one of Brigid were taken this morning. We tried to get the two to stand together but they were too hyper. See how Brigid has grown in 3 months! All her food seems to grow her taller; she's not filling out yet although she gets all she wants to eat. She's about a half inch taller than MM, and I hope she doesn't grow too much taller or she might try to jump the 4' fence someday, which she could. At least she does have tiny feet, so maybe.... I'm 5' and she can stand up at 6 months and put her paws in my hands. It's the only trick she knows. I DIDN'T crop her tail; it's just curved out of sight.

I have had multiple doggies all my life but never girls. I hope that the next dog that needs a home is a girlie!

At least the one who comes 4 days a week and brings them cookies. He started that because he was so terrified of my chows and appreciated that they quit threatening him. I had to attach the mailbox to the gate because he wouldn't come in the yard for love or $; actually that's a wise decision with chows.

But he's loved Molly and Brigid from day one, and if the weather's too bad for them to wait in the yard, they watch at the window, then run to the door and bark to go out when he's on the way.

I love them just for themselves alone, but I do appreciate a practical aspect of sharing a home with them: they're so barky that I don't worry about leaving the window open at night. It's a pretty safe area anyway where many people wouldn't dream of even locking their doors when they're away on a trip. But I'm perfectly safe with a double alarm system, because if anyone did try to break in, they'd get a snootful of foaming wasp spray. MM and Brigid are well enough known anyway that even the worst fool has better sense than to try to surprise us. If the rare stranger passed through, he'd see the chow signs in front and back and not know where they really are now.

But mostly I just appreciate the love those furkids give me. It's hard to imagine life w/o them. So grateful they hit it off. Joy and Freedom, the chows, would never have allowed another dog in our pack. Never.
