Freaking Fireworks will be blasting everywhere tonight.

I have NEVER understood the attraction. To me, it's stupid and is the equivalent of setting cash dollars on fire. Serves no purpose whatsoever and should be banned in my opinion.

But, I live in redneck Bubba-land. Uneducated idiots are already talking about whose house is going to have the bigger show. And the irony? Most of them (seriously) live in the trailer park about three miles down the road and would probably be the least likely who should be spending money on fireworks. But, hey, you can't argue with stupid.

I'm outside of San Antonio and the police chief has been doing public service announcements about people doing that in the city. He keeps saying "the bullets have to fall SOMEWHERE".

It's amazing that some idiots have enough sense to cross the street.

7. Thank you for the reminder to secure the indoor & outdoor cats - the noise starts early around here.

The old indoor cats will be stressed and hide. I'll open up the greenhouse and provide hiding spots for the 2 new outdoor cats that have adopted my backyard. One came spayed & the other I trapped, had neutered & released back into my backyard.

Starting as soon as it gets dark, the explosions start. And it's an even mixture of guns and fireworks. I keep telling myself, those are just fireworks. Sure. A few years ago I found a bullet on my driveway outside our kitchen window. Another six feet and it would have come into our house.

And we have all of that, too. Heaven help us all tonight. I just got back home from running errands and there was a fireworks stand about every half a mile - with lines formed for customers.
