NJ State Fair Saturday

Late afternoon NJSPCA at the fair were contacted by parking staff and Comet Security that there were two dogs locked in a black Jeep Cherokee in Parking lot C. Capt Yocum and Agent Rahill responded and located the vehicle and confirmed two dogs in the car. Dogs were not yet in distress but one was an obviously older dog. Vehicle was actually unlocked with the keys in the center console. Vehicle was entered by NJSPCA windows all put down several inches and emergency leashes were used to remove the dogs from the car. Announcement was made over fair loud speaker system and the human actually responded and returned to the car within 10 minutes of the announcement. Both dogs were ok, human not so much...........Summons, Court Date, Vet appointment etc..... Dogs were not taken from the human because circumstances legally did not meet the standard for removing the animals.

If it was 50 degrees maybe ok, not when its 83.

I bet it's the last time that woman EVER leaves her dogs in a hot car! Maybe she'll also tell some friends and acquaintances about her experience and maybe save some dogs lives and a lot of misery .

with the windows rolled up in summer. These people obviously have a/c in their vehicles, because those of us without a/c know how unbearable it is to get into a hot car - and stay in a hot car while you drive to your next destination.
