A cat that went missing more than a decade ago has been reunited with its family near Edmonton, thanks to a faded tattoo.
Oscar was thin and dehydrated when he was brought to a veterinary clinic in Morinville, Alta., just before Christmas. While veterinarians treated the feline, they noticed it had a faded identification tattoo.
The marker helped them track down Oscars human family, who still live in the town about 35 kilometres north of Edmonton.
They were obviously surprised, but they were happy to take him home, said Elyse Prince of the Morinville Veterinary Clinic.
