I need to try that pic hosting stuff.

(11,800 posts)She rode home like that for two hours. Every time I put her in the box, she climbed right back up. The story...

(176 posts)I had a shoulder rider too, black and white boy...he was rather heavy but would jump up on anyone's shoulder if they happened to lean forward just right. Unfortunately, I didn't always have time to hollar out a warning before he landed on ya...

(34,382 posts)Sammy, not pleased with the size of the box I put on the floor.

Otis, giving me his signature, "So what if I threw up a hairball on the Persian rug? I've done it before and I'll do it again" look.

They're beautiful!

(34,382 posts)I got Sammy when a woman who worked at the same university I did found her alone in the woods near Mt. Pleasant, MI when she was about 4 weeks old. How she ever survived on her own without starving or being eaten by predators, I'll never know. The woman that found her is very allergic to cats, so she couldn't keep her. I adopted her when she was about 5 weeks old. She is such a precious, tiny little thing. She is 5 years old and weighs just 5 pounds. She isn't delicate, though, she gives her big galoot of a brother, Otis, a run for his money.
I got Otis from another university employee who took in a pregnant stray and Otis was one of her kittens. Otis & Sammy were born about 75 miles and a year apart, but they do look like twins. I named him Otis after the elevator company because he amused himself by zooming up and down my legs, torso, and parking himself on my shoulders. It was really cute when he was 6 weeks old. It's not so cute now, 4 years and 18 pounds later, lol. I do love the little demon, though!
On edit: I'm sorry about your Chloe. I just love Tabbies. Heck, I love all of them. Sammy hit the "return" button before I could finish this post. She just loves to get between me and the keyboard, sigh.

(11,800 posts)My next boy is going to be named Otis, after Otis Redding or Leon, after Leon Russell. You can tell where my mind is by my other pets names. (Bootsy is named after Bootsy Collins. Bass player to James Brown, PFunk, Parliament, and Bootsy's Rubber Band). But I like your reason for Otis!
So much more fun!
You have to remember were their servants

Sorry bradda, that's the Singer ego rearing it's ugly head!
But in all seriousness, I appreciate the kind words. I've gotten to know you pretty good recently and the things I hear about your pets and family, man? That's a huge compliment and I thank you for it!
Did you see pic from pets in November that ramblin Dave pasted from Twitter or on my Twitter the chocolate menace to society. Hug em all from us but give zepp a big cuddle from boog
You suffer from LSD LEAD SINGER DISEASE
That's soooo true! My hope is that joking about it keeps it in check!
The Blog looks exactly as I pictured him!
He's awesome!

(8,201 posts)Here is another shot of Snug, the same guy folks saw yesterday in his cardboard box. He likes sinks, too:
And here is his littermate Phoebe a few months ago:
And here is Mico, a stray we took in a couple of years ago. He likes to eat my air plants.
Here he is the first time he went out on a harness:
And here is Buster, another neighborhood stray. We think he was about five when we took him in and got him neutered. He still likes to have his way with my sweaters, but otherwise he's a good boy.
Edited to add: I just saw your other post about the Mighty Zeppelin. I hope your vet is right and they caught it early. He's had a lucky life so far. I think his luck will hold.

You have a totally gorgeous tribe. Many thanks for sharing picture of everyone.
femmedem
(8,201 posts)And you don't have to thank me for sharing photos of the tribe. Hang around me long enough, you'll be thanking me when I don't share the cat photos.

(9,824 posts)was my heart, my favorite, my darling. I have never loved a cat like I loved her. Can't explain why. I've had 2 other tuxies and both were so special.
femmedem
(8,201 posts)All the cats are special, but for whatever reason we do bond more strongly to some than to others. Maybe because of them or maybe because of our life circumstances when they joined our families.

(12,842 posts)Man and me were technically challenged but hey its me boog.
Tell the man I said it's super easy. Upload photos to postimage.org. Click the share button on bottom of uploaded pic at postimage.org. Select direct link. Then all the man has to do is paste in the body of his post at DU. I think even you could do it, although I realize paws don't lend themselves to working a mouse or smartphone. Tell the man I said to get on it cause I'd like to see pics of his fiddles!

(205,320 posts)With the problems with Photobucket, I knew I tried another site that was suggested here, but I couldn't remember - and this was it!
My Jack - who is a Brussels Griffon - and was a "pet shop rescue"
And my handsome Felix - who I found as a tiny kitten in a grocery store parking lot 3 years ago
Glamrock
(11,800 posts)Same yellow/green eyes. Don't tell the other kids, Muddy is my favorite Kitty....
And Jack sure looks happy!
Rhiannon12866
(205,320 posts)But he's grown up into a beautiful cat - and he barely bites at all now, LOL. He was a bitey little kitten, but I didn't hold it against him, he had a rough start. Fortunately, he was healthy. And he looks for affection now, he's come a long way...
And Jack is pretty happy, but he isn't fond of having his picture taken, so I make it a point to take it when he's in the car since he's distracted and he can't go anywhere!
Glamrock
(11,800 posts)And the damn spell check named your cat Garlic!
Muddy used to be a biter too! Now, we've taken to calling him perch because he just has to be on you. Perched on your legs, perched on your hip, etc.
Rhiannon12866
(205,320 posts)And your guys are just adorable - looks like you have an affinity for the black kitties too. I have had four cats in my life, though Felix is my first kitten - and three out of the four just happened to be black. Felix has a tiny white spot in front and just a bit on his back foot. No wonder I couldn't spot him in the dark...
I've also adopted older dogs, Jack is the only puppy I've had since I was a kid. I adopted him at five months and the vet said that Felix was about seven weeks. Jack is 11 now, hard to believe, and Felix is three. Here are the baby pix...
