I finally heard Gryff meow in a non panic way. (Panic meowing occurred during his bath.)

He doesn't do it very often but he sounds like a pigeon cooing!

And BTW, ever since that painful (for me) bath, his fur has just gotten more and more shiny, every passing day. It was worth the blood loss.

Glad to know that you are healing. And to know that he does meow without panic. niyad Nov 2021 #1
He reminds me so much of the two black kittens that I brought home about 20 years ago. Walleye Nov 2021 #2

My boys have very soft little chirps. Both quite talkative. But never a demanding-type meow. If they’re hungry they’ll follow me around the house silently.
My grandcat Eddie will meow very loud and obnoxiously if he’s hungry.
The late Freddie NEVER meowed. He was happy and loving and purred constantly (it seemed) but I never knew a more silent cat.

Rarely meows.
When he was little I shut him in the closet by accident. A half hour passed and I didnt see him anywhere, I started looking everywhere calling him. Than I got to my bedroom closet and there he was. He even pooped in the closet because he couldn't get out. He did it in a prominant location .But he did not meow to alert me to where he was.

I felt like a heel.

To this day he rarely uses his vocal chords.

He is a feline silent bob.

And I keep all my closets open just a crack so if he's in there he can get back out.
