Related: About this forumI thought Leo was injured but he's just a drama queen
When I got home from work he didnt come to greet me which is very unusual. Found him sleeping on the office chair, which is an unusual spot for him. He finally woke up after some gentle prodding, and when got off the chair he was limping pretty badly on his front leg.
I started fussing over him and trying to feel his leg for injury but he really didnt want me to touch it. Which made me more worried. Which made him limp even more. It was a stressful few minutes.
Conclusion: his leg fell asleep during a super zonked-out nap.
Ive shared my home with many cats over the years and this is the first time Ive seen that. Kind of surprising, but I had never even thought about it.
He is perfectly fine and back to normal now, thank goodness.
He changes favorite nap spots about once every two weeks and its nice and sunny in the guest room where the office chair is located. Plus, I threw a fleecy robe on the chair the other day and inadvertently created a prime napping spot.
No matter what Leo does, hell still never be as dramatic as Ziggy Stardust was. He actually faked a limp, only doing it when he knew I was watching him, for two days after his neuter surgery. It was one of the most ridiculous and entertaining things Ive ever seen. Ziggy was a character and a half.

(4,608 posts)Changing the spot so predators cant find them when they are most vulnerable? Leo was a country stray so I think its a habit he got into when he was a wild forest kitty. My other cats have rotated their nap spots but none have done it on such a consistent schedule as he does.
