Relieved to see Mittens the Kitten and Scooter, this morning

I just took out some dry food because it's SO cold (1) and the past few mornings the food has frozen before they could eat all of it. BUT, when I got out there with the dry food, Mittens the Kitten and Scooter came running out and, to be honest, looked a little disappointed at what was in the bowls. SO, I trudged back inside and made some wet/dry mix for them.

I did see Spooky, yesterday. And the cat I suspect is Madoc's dad. I've named him Owain. Hopefully Skittish is OK, but from what I see of Mittens the Kitten and Spooky, I'm a little less worried.

I haven't seen him for a couple days and I was beginning to think a coyote got him. Last night outside the back door I heard a meow and it was Joe Joe. He looked cold and I tried to get him to come inside the garage, but he was too righten to do that. Put out enough cat food for him for a couple days, but he ate it all and disappeared into the snowy woods behind the house.

I had another cat show up. Didn't get a picture, but it was a black and white and beat up bad.

4. The feral kitty I've been feeding for the last 5-6 years showed up

for breakfast when she heard me open the door. She talks to me and will sit on the porch with me, but always at arms length. No touching allowed.

She is the last of a family of ferals that I've been feeding for years. She has been here since she was a kitten, but has never had kittens herself.

5. Scooter and Mittens the Kitten like to wait for me by the back door

Unfortunately, I can't open it, right now. I saw the paw prints of someone waiting for me at the front door, yesterday morning, but by the time I got outside, they had moved on. I suspect Mittens the Kitten because in the Summer, if I'm late in bringing the food, she will move to waiting for me by the front door.

Mittens will talk to me and is getting increasingly comfortable with me petting and scritching her. Scooter will talk to me, but keeps her distance. I've given her a few scritches, but it's obvious she's still nervous.

Ty for sharing!

"Cold" day (for here - hovering around freezing. Feral tuna day, for sure. I've not seen them in a few days, but this is "normal."

11. Poor babes out in the freezing cold. Looks like they've got thick coats.

Even though, I'm sure they're feeling the cold. You're a good person to try and keep them safe and feed them.
