Scooter rarely meows to me. This morning she did.

I'm guessing she was asking how her little girl is doing. I told her she's just fine and as sassy as ever.

Carys and Arthur spent the whole night snuggle up with me. I did manage to squirt the anti inflammatory into her mouth, with just a moderate amount of her wiggling, this morning. Of course, she's smart so I might have to figure out a new approach, tomorrow. Fortunately it's just 2 more doses.

Arthur has about 6 more. I now have to chase him down.

Side note: Carys' brother Space Boy goes in for neutering on Monday and then shortly after it's Moon's turn for spaying. We all use the same vet.

They will come up and start eating while I'm still filling the other bowls, as long as I don't look at them. Scooter is still the only one I can pet but Spooky is getting MUCH more comfortable with me and the brown tabby now THINKS about sniffing my hand, when offered. Not quite there, yet, but close.

Giving medicine to a cat takes some doing sometimes. I usually kind of sneak up from behind, do a kneeling thing on either side to secure the cat while petting. when I'm in position I carefully grasp the sides of their mouth back toward the jaw, slightly open the mouth and then;

if liquid in a dropper, from the side of the mouth near your fingertip, squirt it on to the roof of the mouth about halfway in. One quick squirt and it's over, quick release of kitty with petting.

if a pill, same as above only take pill between index and middle finger tips so that you can slip it into the side of the mouth and push it toward the center-back of the tongue, remove finger, close the mouth and quick release with petting.

It goes by so quickly they aren't quite sure what happened and they just think, "well, that was weird" and think little of it for the first couple days. After that they think it's normal.
