How on earth did Roman emperors get a copy of Photoshop, much less circumvent cloud based auth? FreepFryer Jan 2021 #12

Only making them look realistic, she's also updated them, giving them modern hair, a bit of make-up. I always agreed with Henry's comment on Anne of Cleves looks, but with a decent hair do, she's actually pretty. I guess plug something like Henry VIII, wives made modern.

I've read all of Lindsey Davis's superb series set in ancient Rome, and this helped bring the three emperors (Vespasian, Titus, and Domitian) of the hero's time to life. Marcus Didius Falco is a Roman private eye ca. 79 CE, and these books are brilliant historical fiction, very funny, and imbued with the sights and smells of Rome then.
Thank you.

that if only we had the same done for Falco we could have a complete party. I haven't read them all, but I've read 7 or 8. I can still get a giggle thinking about (paraphrased) "What kind of idiot would buy a slave from Gaul as a cook? Only the Persians understand fine cooking."
