In 2017 Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus came up with "Rainbowland"...

Not specifically pro anything but be yourself and mind your own business.

Well, Waukesha schools had included it in their Spring festivities until some "parents" decided it was pro-gay and must be destroyed.

Rehearsals for the bit had already started, but even though the school approved it, some hot head on the school board got them to cancel it.

Many people, including Cyrus and Parton, are not happy.

"...I've heard it too many times to ignore it...It's something that I'm supposed to be....Someday, we'll find it, the Rainbow Connection, the lovers, the dreamers, and me!"

Sesame Street song, frequently played in the 1980s.

Trump Era released the Kraken of self righteousness.
"I like your Christ, I don't like your Christians" if I have the quote right. So many of the well armed, entitled, road hog nutjobs unleashed.
Sane as the flunkies in school who suddenly found their validation upon becoming "saved" at some goofball shyster church. DT's "you're gonna be so rich" went to their heads.
Unable to recognize that their great savior who has called for mass executions would long ago have been victim of that in most countries that do that barbaric shit.
Along with his sycophants.

NEW BAN from the Christian Taliban: Wisconsin officials are banning the song Rainbowland from Dolly Parton & Miley Cyrus from a 1st-grade concert.

But the song isn't about being in drag. Or being gay.

Once you read the lyrics, you will see exactly how fascist this move is👇
"Livin' in a Rainbowland
Where everything goes as planned and I smile
’Cause I know if we tried, we could really make a difference in this world
I won’t give up or sleep a wink
It's the only thought I think
You know where I stand
I believe we can start livin’ in a Rainbowland

Livin' in a Rainbowland
Where you and I go hand in hand
Oh, I'd be lyin', if I said this was fine
All the hurt and the hate going on here
We are rainbows, me and you
Every color, every hue
Let's shine through
Together we can start livin' in a Rainbowland

Living in a Rainbowland
Where skies are blue and things are grand
Oh, wouldn't it be nice to live in paradise
Where we're free to be exactly who we are
Let's all dig down deep inside
Brush the judgment and fear aside
Make wrong things right, and end the fight
'Cause I promise ain't nobody gonna win"

👆 Did you catch the offensive part? It's right there in black and white.

This song encourages ACCEPTANCE.

For the Christian Taliban, there is nothing worse a person can do than reject hate, and instead love & accept themselves and others for who they are unconditionally – like Jesus did.

I'm sure all the "freedom" advocates like Ron DeSantis who demand the protection of our children will now see their hypocrisy, admit they've strayed far away from the teachings of Jesus, and then reverse these cruel bans... or go straight to Hell.

You need to calm down. I tend to be reflexively suspicious of mainstream and popular stuff
;-/ (we all have our prejudices).

But anti-hero and this won me over:

I was an ally long before it was cool to be one.

As I get older, as a childfree feminist, I suspect an even deeper instinctive affinity between the (always embattled by religious bigots) GLBT community and women like me who don’t put up with aggressive shit from male creeps or subscribe to watered down “lean in” feminism, but the less commodified, angrier undergroundish version..

If undergrounds die out society will just be garbage built by creeps..
