The resolution passed Monday was amended from its original version, excluding school sports from the non-discrimination policies. That clause was a major point of concern from parents and some school board members when the resolution was initially introduced.

Of course they did. We can't be upsetting the jocks, now can we? After all they are the chosen...

maybe losing scholarships if a boy can compete in girl's sports. I am thinking that even taking hormones etc can't correct the obvious advantage that masculine muscle structure especially upper body and testosterone gives to males. if its all equal are trans men trying to play football? should be able to with some testosterone? Forgive me. Just trying to figure it out.

I tend to believe that god made no mistakes so trans people are exactly how they were born; trans and all trans is normal as is all other gender identities.

Maybe we should do all sports by height and weight. That might be more fair. Height gives basketball players more advantages only because the height of the basket. They are not better athletes because of height but because of advantage of height to the sport. So much to think about.

I'm pretty sure my naivety is going to be blasted but at least I do expect to learn something and I thank you in advance

(I won't say it does not happen, but it shouldn't.)

I use the term 'jock' to refer to anyone who plays sports on a regular basis. However, the thing is this. Either we are for equality, or we are not. Every time we come up with exceptions, we undermine the entire concept. I would suggest that perhaps it is time to stop placing such importance on athletics, especially when they get to claim 'exemptions' to societal progress and/or current norms. (Now I will be the one blasted. Every time I mention how athletics get the special treatment in any school system, I get told all about how important they are. Yawn.) I actually like your idea of their being height and weight requirements for sports. I have known a few very tall people who played basketball in school solely because the coaches begged them to because of their heights. They were not necessarily that good at it, but having the height allowed them to have decent high school careers and a few even got to college with a scholarship. (Suffice to say, they did not pursue basketball once they graduated.)

Lastly, if you believe that Yahweh is responsible for everything, then I assure you he makes mistakes. I exist. That is evidence enough.
