Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumVirginia Republicans push slew of conservative bills
RICHMOND Virginia Gov. Robert F. McDonnell warned his Republican brethren to take it slow this month as they took control of the state Senate.
Dont be arrogant, dont overreach, dont fight, he told them.
If the flurry of legislation theyve introduced is any indication, Virginias most conservative Republicans arent holding back.
They are pushing legislation to: wipe out corporate income taxes; mandate drug testing of welfare recipients; crack down on illegal immigrants; beef up gun rights, property rights, parental rights and fetal rights; roll back gay rights; and free the commonwealth from federal laws it doesnt like.

(6,185 posts)Or is this a generic GOP "Panic attack" that belongs in GD instead?
'Beefing up" gun rights doesn't sound all that horrible without any specifics. What are they proposing, arming all school children? Selling to convicted felons?

(754 posts)"Beefing up gun rights" is not a "conservative bill." It is expansion of a constitutional right, which is the main signifier of liberal outlooks.
I don't buy into the rest of the stuff, and WaPo's (chief agitprop for anti-2a forces) associating "gun rights" with them is misleading; in fact, the GOP should not be given the opportunity to own this issue.
BTW, do you have any comments are positions on this post? What are your views? How do you view liberal theory regarding Constitutional rights?
