The lethal rounds aren't really anything new. And I'd shy away from them because of their advertising and the fact they aren't proven. If I have to use my weapon it's to stop the aggression, not necessarily to kill.

The less than lethal stuff is problematic because I can see it easily inflicting a mortal wound. Anyone who cons their self into thinking that shooting a firearm at someone isn't always potentially lethal, well, that's not too smart. My department doesn't even issue less than lethal shotgun rounds and we certainly never train with them. That's mostly because you can indeed kill with a knee knocker. There are better less than lethal strategies out there.
