Say it isn't so.......

There is a report out that Media Matters former nead David Brock's assistant carried an unlicensed Glock in violation of DC gun laws to provide security for his boss.

By 2010, Brock’s personal assistant, a man named Haydn Price-Morris, was carrying a holstered and concealed Glock handgun when he accompanied Brock to events, including events in Washington, D.C., a city with famously restrictive gun laws. Price-Morris told others he carried the gun to protect Brock from threats.

Late in 2010, other Media Matters employees learned about Price-Morris’s gun, and he was fired due to their objections. No public announcement was made.

Maybe this along with that Brock was certain (or delusional) he was a target of toters everywhere is why he left MM. Or maybe just a case of those pesky laws applying just to the unwashed commoners.

Will the Joyce Foundation want their money back? Will Soros pay for Brock's personal security? Will Media Matters refute the charges?

They want to pass laws to disarm the average person, but leave loopholes for themselves so THEY can have armed guards, or posses or carry a gun themselves.

The distrust of ordinary people by elites in this country never ceases to amaze me.

No hypocrisy, just a realization that right-wingers are violent subhuman savages and need to be protected against. For example, Micheal Moore likes gun control laws, but he is attacked by repigs so often that he has to hire bodyguards who carry guns. He has been attacked physically many times since he became famous.

He is also a life member of the NRA but strangely they don't listen to any of his ideas.

Those that advocate disarming ordinary people are hypocrites.

"Micheal Moore likes gun control laws" for other people, not for himself, or his hired mercenaries.

Gun Prohibtionists scream that only law enforcement and the military should be trusted enough have guns. Then they turn around and accuse the very same law enforcement and military of being racist, sexist, homophobic and fascist.

I don't care if any rich bastard hires armed bodyguards, as long as he or she isn't advocating taking away my right to RKBA.

Thomas Dodd carried an illegal .25 ACP because he was afraid of the hippies in Georgetown. Carl Rowan had issues with teenagers skinny dipping in his pool.

Somehow I missed the stories on those physical attacks.

Perhaps you can cite a few (or even one?) examples where he felt so threatened by "multiple physical attacks" that he had to hire armed guards just because of the it? Just like Rosie O'Donnell after lecturing everyone on how evil guns are in the hands of the citizenry.

Oh wait, there were no attacks, they just can afford armed guards and have enough clout to get the permits from people like Bloomie.

But it's nice to find someone ready to stick up for the poor frightened 1%.

Or only $120 for the jump drive version. Lucky me.

How about finding a single report on his being attacked that we don't have to pay a C note plus for?

I'm sure there must be something in the real news and not some guy's blog about the multiple physical attacks and the subsequent arrests and trials of the attackers.

Or is that the extent of your education?

I am not all that familiar wit this story. The eliminationist rhetoric and the growing hate mongering that infests the political arena makes speaking out as a public figure a dangerous game. We have entered and era of politics where the RW hate machine is tryingt to stoke an incendiary situation. Calling for the elimination of liberal and progressive ideas through Second amendment means is
evil and unacceptable.

When I was accosted in Oceanside by a 1% er for having a "turn off Fox" sticker on my car, it brought home how hateful and uncivil the dialogue has become. I never challenged the old fool. Yet I was called a communist and told to get away from his $500,000+ boat that takes 32 gallons an hour to run. And he just took a 3 hour trip from San Diego to Oceanside. That's 6 hours to and fro. Add up the cost for a day cruise.

It is wholly the fault of the other side. As they decry any talk back to their sick behavior they hint, cajole and even directly call for violence against the left. Too feel threatened for being liberal or progressive or Democrat is common sense. What happened to Gifford was more than coincidental. It was because of the hate machine.

The media allows them to get away with this sociopathy. You wonder what would happen if something bad happened to a conservative. They would be out seizing guns from liberals all over the country.

I am convinced that this election is not a political discourse but a civil war. Hostilities seem to be on the rise.

Right-wing, left-wing, whatever. It's been used heavily on DU for disseminating "coverage" supporting OWS. The journalistic standards of people who post there vary wildly from "decent" to "completely making shit up and pretending it's true," but it's not automatically a right-wing site. You're confusing it with the Washington Examiner, which is indeed a right-wing newspaper and website. I've made that mistake myself.

Was he fired from MM for his actions? This could be cleared up by a simple statement from Brock or the leadership of MM.

The delusion that "my shit don't stink" is just about universal. You use terms like "sick, civil war and sociopathy" yet make the charge that all the rhetoric is coming from the "RW hate machine." The right doesn't have a monopoly on hate, there's plenty of it to go around.

The country's been moving to the left for several decades and it's made a couple big lurches in that direction in the past few years. Those on the right, especially the far right, have been marginalized more and more. What did you think, that they'd just evaporate? Of course they're pissed off. Pissed off people typically sound pissed off but that doesn't make them "sick" or "sociopathic."

Really... This country would be far better off if people, left AND right, would just calm the fuck down.

Meh... Probably too much to ask.
