1 dead after NC grandfather fires back at trio in attempted rape of teen granddaughter, sheriff saysLUMBERTON, NC - A grandfather shot back and is believed to have killed a suspect in a home-invasion and attempted rape of his teen granddaughter on Monday night, Robeson County Sheriff's officials said.
The grandfather was also shot – but he also managed to shoot the 2 other suspects in the home-invasion and attempted rape, said Maj. Anthony Thompson with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office. The incident started around 10 pm at a house on Yedda Road in Lumberton on Monday night when someone knocked on the home of the grandfather, his wife and their 19-year-old granddaughter, according to the sheriff's office. Two of three men – all wearing black clothes, ski masks and gloves -- stormed into the house and demanded money, officials said. http://www.wbtw.com/story/26851008/1-dead-after-nc-grandfather-fires-back-at-trio-in-attempted-rape-of-teen-granddaughter-sheriff-says Prayers for family's healing.

1. At least one of those thugs will never hurt another human being again.
The other 2 thugs will be charged with murder, attempted murder, attempted rape, home invasion, hopefully they'll never see the light of freedom again.
Prayers to the family and hopefully a full recovery for the grandfather. |

Just another cowboy who escalated the situation. He could have shot the girl by mistake.

3. In Progressive circles that's known as "victim blaming" and it's frowned upon because it's wrong. nt

4. I know if you question the term gun humper
and the person confirns they mean a girl litterally uses a rifle to sexually pleasure herself you will get a hide for trolling.
![]() Other GC proponents will defend it as well. I suppose it makes sense to those who view the instigator of a felonious assault to be the "victim" |

5. That was an unjustified hide.
They also tried to get the pics I posted in the same thread of President Obama shooting a shotgun hidden, it was close, both were 4-3 to leave it.
Some people are just too thinned skinned. |

![]() I have to admit I actually laughed at the hide. Asking a poster if a teen literally humps her gun is sexist; poster admitting they believe she puts a rile in her vagina- A-Ok Saw one today about gun owners I don't know how they sleep at night
but who fetishizes guns? with their gun barrels up their asses ![]() |

15. I also note the increasingly violent tone of some antis.
Beware of arranged postings where several engage in "loaded" colloquies -- sign of a hide trap.

16. I pretty much dial out all GD posts on guns
A whole lot of foaming at the mouth and ignorance on display, coupled with a mob mentality for the gun controllers that can't seem to accomplish anything in the real world. They get their jollies from a hide or a ban I guess.
If they ever actually start to accomplish anything, besides their impotent venting online, I may start to worry about their influence. Until then, meh? They seem to want to use every criminal that uses a gun as an excuse to bash gun owners in general, and specifically all of us, every chance they get. We even have a new "drive by" post here trying to do the same thing with the criminal who shot the cops with an illegal "assault weapon" in "AWB" California, the gun controllers nirvana. These posts really belong in the Crime Forum, but then no one would see how terribly clever they are. I'd rather let most of those posts just sink on their own without any response from us. Kind of like Castle Bansalot, that can easily go for a week with no posts. Wait, let me correct that, they do post cartoons often the same ones over and over, as their version of intelligent discussion. Today, while they whine and pout I'm heading for our local range for "Sighting In Day". $10 per gun, targets provided with a gunsmith on premise to do any fine adjustments. It's a perfect, clear day for the range with temps in the upper 60's predicted. I have a Savage in 30.06, a Ruger GP100 (6 inch barrel) and a .50 Hawken style muzzle loader to go play with in the real world. You kids play nice with the grabbers while I'm out. |

17. I have learned to do that also.
Part of the strategy is to get a person worked up to get a hide. Most of the time it seems to backfire as they can get very nasty.

Stupid gun-humper. The kid he shot might have cured cancer one day.

8. "Seriously though, fuck that guy and his friends. 1/3 isn't bad though."
I would have preferred that the perpetrators gain the opportunity to realize the true nature and depth of their evil and, in turn, have them then realize their need to be better people; even if that meant they came to this realization while serving life sentences. I would not wish them death before they had that chance.
As it stands, their actions prevented such an outcome for at least one of them. They left the family with no other choice. I would not shed a tear if all 3 had died. I am happy the granddaughter was spared. I hope the grandfather recovers. I still hope the surviving 2 perpetrators can lern to be better men -- real men. |

9. Personally
I like to imagine that the one who bled out in the stolen car had a moment of clarity before he died. A single moment of realization to come over him like a cold, wet blanket just before he died. An indelible and immeasurably heavy lesson to take with him into the great beyond. "I died because I wanted to rob and rape. That's all anyone will ever remember about me".
I'm sure his friends will have time to experience something similar in the years to come. I doubt they will. People like this aren't like normal folks. I used to believe they all were, but in recent years I honestly have come to believe that the kind of people who'd kill and rape aren't capable of truly feeling sorry for what they did. Sorry for being caught, but not for what they did. Personal experience has made me into something of a cynic, I'm afraid. |

11. Spot on.
You're talking about a subset of a subset of a subset of the population here. A small fraction of the population are regularly engaged in criminal activity; a small fraction of that population will actually commit violent acts and a small fraction of THAT population will actually work up to rape/murder. And, you are also correct in that the only real regret they will likely express is over being caught and prevented from committing additional crimes. It's good that there are so few of these types; unfortunate that they often leave a trail of destruction in their wake.
