A NC woman shot and killed a home invader sometime after 1am. The woman confronted the intruder after he entered her home and shot him. The woman was not injured and the intruder was pronounced dead on the scene.

Wonder what type of firearm and caliber, night sights, her training or lack of...did she cut on the lights? what distance? Ammo type?

So many interesting things are always left out of stories like this.

1. Yeah. I would call those tactical details.

But you are right. The focus is always on the fact that someone got shot. The important details seem to never make it into the story.

The photo at the top of the article looks like some kind of 1911, but it looks like a stock photo, or something googled, probably not a pic of the actual gun.

She called as they were trying to break in, cops were sent, he breaks in, sounds of an altercation, she shoots him three times, you can hear him telling her "Fuck you" on the call, cops arrive.

After being shot the first time he left her bedroom and then returned and was shot twice more. He died on the scene.

They got there only about a minute after he broke in. But it was still a minute too late.
