SCITUATE, Mass.—A judge has sided with neighbors of a Massachusetts gun club and issued a permanent injunction against shooting rifles and handguns at the facility at the center of a multiyear legal battle.

The ban issued last week upholds a temporary injunction issued against the Scituate (SIH'-choo-it) Rod and Gun Club in 2009.

The judge also ordered the club to pay $22,000 in damages to 13 neighbors who said they felt unsafe because of stray bullets from the firing range. The plaintiffs said stray bullets struck three homes between 2004 and 2008.

A lawyer for the homeowners tells the Patriot Ledger ( http://bit.ly/JZASTs) shotgun use is still allowed at the club.

2. If the facilty

is unsafe then it needs to be brought up to speed. After reading the article there is not much there. This is probably another one of those stories where the gun club has been there forever and developers built houses around it now they can't get along with each other.
