Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumMore non-Va. gun owners get permits
The commercial courses allow applicants to seek a permit from Virginia that is valid in their state, but without having to meet tougher requirements their home states may impose, such as firing a gun with an instructor.
Virginia State Police issued 1,632 concealed-carry permits to nonresidents through the first half of 2012, topping the previous years total of 1,321 nonresident permits. There was no corresponding increase in demand for resident permits, with just less than half the previous years number reached by mid-2012.
There are no hard numbers to explain why nonresident permits are soaring because state police do not track how many people take online training compared with other types of training.

(15,396 posts)I always knew she was a pretty good offhand shot, but not until she got her 38 did I realize how well she can shoot.
With a little more work on being aware of her surroundings (something women seem to take for granted) I think she'll make a pretty responsible carrier.
No to get her some of those "people shaped" targets.

(32,715 posts)that have never fired a handgun and can't pass a test that requires more than a 3rd grade education. This way they can have their 4th grader take the 20 question, true or false test for them and actually get 15 of those questions right.
You'd think this interstate commerce might get regulated by the federal government. After all this will mean big money for match book schools that offer the course. Those qualified instructors can find new work.

(2,927 posts)... you corrected that. You were stalking the wrong profile, Einstein.
P.S. I'm surprised that while you were peeking at my profile you didn't notice this isn't even my favourite group. So, I'm not sure what you mean about posting to other forums.

(2,927 posts)... perhaps your buddies Hoyt and Bongbong can explain why posts are sometimes hidden?
safeinOhio
(32,715 posts)because they break the rules also.
I'd bet more ideologs on both sides get alerted on. Not many of us reasonable folks have that problem.

(15,396 posts)I had another post hidden by a "troll hunter" that alerted that I wasn't "progressive" enough for DU.

Seems like the pot is calling the kettle black.
And since I am applying for disability and haven't worked in two years, maybe you can tell me how my money is best spent.

However, so I might be fully-accepted by the committee for doctrinal purity, I am ...
... a registered Democrat (absentee voter)
... socially liberal
... fiscal libertarian (think David Lloyd George)
... Conservative Jew (that isn't what you think it is)
... NRA Member
... card-carrying member of the Costco Buyers' Club
... subscriber to TV Guide
Hopefully, that will please the Komisar, and he'll accept me as a TRUE Democrat.
