The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases has begun a major re-set of its biological safety program and research is currently on hold. The move results from several actions recently taken by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in response to concerns about USAMRIID's past management of its Biological Select Agents and Toxins research program.
