SEN. MURPHY: I think we're going to pass the spending bill for Ukraine

Senator Murphy was on CBS Face The Nation and here is part of the transcript

SEN. MURPHY: I think we're going to pass the spending bill for Ukraine, we have already moved past several procedural hurdles that require 60 votes. I think there will be 60 votes in the end and there has to be. On many days, Ukraine is firing one quarter of the artillery shells that Russia is. Some days, they are only interrupting half the missiles that are being sent at Ukrainian cities. We are on the precipice of a disaster for Ukraine and for the world. Nikki Haley is right. Putin has made it clear that if he wins Ukraine, he is going to continue on ultimately to a country that's going to get the United States directly involved in a confrontation with Russia. So it has been hard to get Republican votes to support Ukraine, made very difficult by Donald Trump's opposition to Ukraine funding, but I think we're gonna get this done in the Senate by early to mid next week.

they need those same repuke house members to vote for the Jefferies motion to force the vote on the bill.

Those are usually very party line. The House members can tell their constituents "Well I was in favor of funding, but the Speaker would not allow us to vote and on the procedural vote I stick with my team."

Because it is absolutely necessary (and supported by majorities).

Jeffries has floated the option of some kind of petition to bring it to the floor to be voted on by the whole house. And I don't know but perhaps the Senate has a strategy to get something moving in the House.

I am not as knowledgeable as others lets see if there is better information posted.

To split the bills up. So he can try to kill the Ukraine bill for papa pootie and the orange anus.

It will take some fancy footwork to get a discharge petition through on the intact bill.

Hopefully we will pull out ny-3. The media is painting a grim picture.

We always have money for war. In this particular case I agree we should not abandon Ukraine to Russian imperial expansion, but as always anything 'bipartisan' out of congress has a high stink factor.

The Citizens United ruling makes it almost impossible to track dark money to Super Pacs. So, anybody, and I mean anybody can contribute to a campaign. There is absolutely nothing to stop Putin using all his oil money to buy Republican votes. And the Republicans are not going to stop this because it keeps them in power where they can use insider info to trade stocks and get rich. The repubs in the House will sell out Ukraine!
