VIRGINIA BEACH

The top enlisted sailor at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story has been relieved of duty as command master chief following an investigation into allegations of "inappropriate behavior," the Navy announced Monday.

The installation's commander, Capt. Frank Hughlett, said he lost confidence in Master Chief Petty Officer Yves Raynaud's ability to serve as his senior enlisted adviser.

Allegations surfaced against Raynaud this month, said Jim Moir, a Navy spokesman. No other details were provided.

Raynaud, who had served in the position since October, was reassigned to a staff position at the Navy's Mid-Atlantic Region, which oversees management of regional Navy bases.
