Visited Dads grave at the V. A. cemetery and decided to take a walk through.

All Veteran grave stones are marked with the religious symbol of the Veterans religion.
I walked for maybe an hour among thousands of our hero's graves. I saw every religion except one. The symbol of a Mormon, I could not find one anywhere. I will pick another section next time I go in hopes of finding just one.
We all know Mitt Romney spent his college days supporting the Vietnam War, then ran to france to avoid serving in it. Recently Mitt has stated that his 5 sons would not serve in the military, but instead are serving their country by helping him get elected. Needless to say this did not sit well with me while walking among our dead hero's. Link to symbols below.

While any member of the Church is free to object to military combat service because of conscience, simply holding membership in the Church in and of itself is not a justification. Church leaders have discouraged conscientious objection in every conflict of the twentieth century. Although it is opposed to war and recognizes that going to war is a very poor alternative means of resolving conflicts, the Church considers it the loyal duty of citizenship for members to answer the call of their various countries for military service. As a matter of fact, there is a photo of him "demonstrating" in favor of the sending others to die in Vietnam.

And from what my chaplain told me, I'm one of only three jews in our entire brigade.

In those years over 50,000 Americans killed. Playing the odds he did well.
I don't know too much about Mormans but would think it was not a hotbed for conversion.
