Would you have lunch outside with someone who probably isn't vacinated?

As some of you may know its hard to make friends when you are older.
I have a neighbor who's always been friendly and we've gone out to dinner with her, I text her often but I have a sneaking feeling she is anti vax as she made a comment in the past that her mother died after being vaccinated for the flu many years ago and that made a big anti vax impression on the family.

Bottom line she has asked me to sit on her deck in the open air for some wine next week and I would love to go but, naturally, as I'm fully vaxxed and boosted and 'pretty sure she is none of them I am afraid to go.

Sitting outside at a 6 ft distance if no one is sneezing or coughing would you go?

Yes my husband and I have commorbidities and we are over 75 but healthy.

as it is I hate to turn down a chance to hang out with some people.

We have another date with her and another neighbor next month I guess I'll have to bow out of that one, too.

Thanks for your response.

you probably pass near unvaxxed people every time you go to a store - but that the fact that she is unvaxxed means you’ll probably not see eye to eye with her on many things. So why put yourself in a situation that you’ll just have to extricate yourself from later.

It’s like I would go for maybe a glass of wine - not lunch - for half an hour, but I really think she should be made a pariah and deprived of the company of others for not being willing to protect them by getting vaxxed.

Pretty easy to stay a few feet apart outside

Our social worlds seem to shrink as we age. Embrace the opportunity

FWIW - 74 and healthy - and frequently out and about. I know not everyone I come in contact with is vaccinated. I accept that risk as part of living and embracing life to the fullest

If you get C19, you could die drowning in your own mucus and be unable to see the ones you love for fear of contaminating them.

The increased isolation many of us exercise is not because it’s what we necessarily wish to do.

But it is our reality.
