A pregnancy at term and we are waiting for news

She is related to inlaws, and I don't know her well. She was supposed to get induced yesterday, if she hadn't gone on her own. I was talking to my daughter, who is waiting for news. My daughter is close enough to the young woman to support and encourage her, but she doesn't have children, so she can't relate a personal experience of childbirth. My daughter and I were talking about pregnancy and delivery. I had some trouble with both deliveries when my kids were born, so I have never felt like sharing the experience in any depth. I think that with the first baby you have, it is too scary to take in all of your feelings. But, even with the problems I had, I did have a feeling of exultation when my younger daughter was born. Even almost 50 years later, I can vividly remember that feeling of power. I told my daughter the other night that I felt like the Goddess visited me, was in me, was me. I haven't shared that with anyone and she was astonished. I got choked up while I talked to her, and it has been on my mind since. Even if the feeling I had isn't something I dwell on, I think that once you feel that link to natural power, and you understand it, you are profoundly changed, even if you don't make it the be all and end all of your existence. I don't know if enlightenment is the right word. I wasn't woke then, just a young wife having a family with my husband. As my life goes on, I know there are times that my voice is not my voice, or my strength isn't my own, or even poetry I write comes from a Muse. So I live with a private assurance that there is a powerful force in me, or maybe is my secret twin. I'm old enough to understand that becoming aware can happen in other circumstances than childbirth. After all these years, I'm talking about this, because as we struggle for our rights, for our identity as equals, we each can draw on that natural power to get through this current attempt to keep us down. Maybe women who join against women haven't had the honor of a visit. I don't know if men would feel the same depth and strength of godliness that I am talking about. The absence of that presence might explain what drives them.

Are terrified of women. I had a similar experience when my daughters were born.

Our power to make a miracle is something they can't handle.

Hence, misogyny and patriarchal society.

I hope that someday we all know that while we are powerful, we are, by and large, not cruel
