"Terrorist" - What's in a word.
All day today, I have wondered why I couldn't call Dylann Roof a terrorist. I finally figured it out. If I call Roof a terrorist, then I have to admit that the US has a problem with terrorists inside of its boundaries. And if I have to admit that, I have to admit that no one is really safe.
That's hard.
Now, because this act of terror was racially motivated, it might be fair to say that no one black is safe from terrorism. Now, I dealt with the police brutality issue. And that black people aren't safe from police. But to have to look over your shoulder, because at any time, some deranged racist idiot could decide to kill you... because that's what living with terrorism means.
I don't like it, and I want something done about it. I want a task force, I want Homeland Security, I want the Patriot Act... flush out these terrorists who want to kill black people. Identify those who are sympathetic. And have a zero tolerance policy.
That's how you deal with terrorism.
