How is everyone in this sub-forum ?

Last edited Sat Nov 7, 2015, 02:47 PM - Edit history (1)

I mean, how are you, as a member of this sub-forum and DU as a whole ? I've been away lately. I got burned out. I still have the AA community's back, forever and always! Best wishes to all of you.

Steve

P.S. If you want to say something personal, totally cool with me, I'll be kind as I always try to be. I've been off goofing off, avoiding politics for the most part, enjoying my new headphones, and doing a pet project of mine.

I missed what it said.

Glad to see you around!

This year has been crazy busy with work and home, so I do try to post when I get chance but have had to mostly lurk (check LBN, here, and posts that pop up on the front page where I may do some commenting) and then move on. Haven't had time to get into in-depth arguments except for a few cases when I had a chance to take a brief break from everything else to craft responses.

for this post to have far more recs than replies. When someone asks a question, aren't we supposed to answer, or do we simply rec because Steve is cool and he's back in the group?

I am off more than usual, and post sporadically. I have trashed some forums and groups to rid myself of some of the toxicity although it can be everywhere on DU these days. Hand issues limit me some days to mouse clicks and one-hand typing, which I hate and therefore seldom do.

I will be very thankful when the primaries are over, and I hope we will return to a more civil place to hang out. I learn a lot reading in this group, but it angers me when the disruptors/alert stalkers ruin the threads. Not to get too meta, but I would love to see a time when the hosts control the groups and not a jury from all of DU.

Stay well, Steve.

I mean, I never envisioned the group as being a totally "safe space" (no place is) but thanks to the moderators, it's actually somewhat sane and I don't have to read 15 senseless OP's on Hillary's butt.

Thanks for asking. A little more engaged offline than online, in terms of working hard to make money. Thankful for having a nice home and some good friends.

What kind of headphones? And what's the pet project, if you feel like saying?

I try to stay in this section. I feel like this is the only group I can unapologetically Black in and I'm glad there are insightful members who keep posting topics and actively moderating the group.

I also don't mind 'awwwing' over the cute kitteh threads either.

I feel exactly the same.

And I have been loving Chitown Kev's fire lately. His "kiss my ass" approach to dealing with these people is exactly how I've felt for a long time.

Sometimes you forget that your dealing with reasonable people(except when it comes to race ) so you try to take a reasonable approach and get burned in the process. Once you take the 'kiss my ass' approach, it feels pretty good!

I'm glad that this group is still here and being back as well after many years. And nice to have this introduction to you, steve2470.

I knew it was coming and kind of beautiful to watch this process of extreme aging. It ain't easy being old.

Hang in there, I know you're doing great!
