An interesting online program that may be of interest (also in DC)

Compassionate Activism -- a program of Everyday Feminism

http://www.compassionateactivism.com/program/ca-program/

Compassionate Activism is a 10-week professional development program for marginalized people who are engaged in social justice work that address the impact of systemic oppression on their own communities.

Whether you're a person of color doing anti-racism work, a queer woman addressing the intersection of sexism and homophobia, or a trans youth of color organizing for economic and social justice, we bear the traumatic weight of being both personally targeted by systemic oppression and proactively exposing ourselves to it through our social justice work.

This often means the trauma from our personal life and professional work build on each other, leading to burnout, depression, fatigue, and at times, even suicide.

To address this pervasive issue of burnout and unsustainability in our social movements, the Compassionate Activism program supports people in healing from their experiences with systemic oppression and building their capacity to respond to everyday situations of injustice from a sense of peace and relatedness.

Instead of reinforcing our traumas, our activism becomes a vehicle for our own healing and reconnection to those who unconsciously perpetuate systemic oppression.

Then working from a sense of shared humanity, we're able to envision together a way to address the situation.

The Compassionate Activism program is led by Sandra Kim, Founder of Everyday Feminism. It's offered through a 10-week online seminar and a local Washington, DC in-person program, starting April 6, 2016. Space is limited so please apply early in order to be considered!

It's not free but there are scholarships and it sounds like one may be able to pay weekly as well.
