I noticed something today...

He gave a barn burner of a Jeremiad that held up a great mirror to a lot of white folks in this country who went around congratulating themselves for moving to a post racial society, having evicted the racism demon from their souls. That mirror did a bang up job of showing them where their privilege still was and they didn't like it one bit, so they blamed the mirror.

A lot of white folks out there really have worked hard to eliminate racism from their thinking, but all the poison absorbed in childhood is damned hard to evict and white privilege is a stubborn thing to recognize because only its loss will make it visible to many people.

I have seen progress in my lifetime, but it's damnably slow progress. That's what happens when you have to change the thinking of a large population. It will eventually happen but I won't live to see it. You might not, either.

It's pretty obvious.

Gotta center the discussion on their feelings. "I'm tired of labels!"

And then they attempt to play victim in white privilege/racism discussions.

Obvious, aren't they?

There are still a LOT of trolls on DU. Unfortunately.

But the folks who are persistently- aggressively- oblivious are more than annoying.
They're depressing

The whole alt-right vibe is more pervasive than ever, especially now that Breitbart is basically running a presidential campaign.
