The TSA Pat-Down coverage and controversy is the height of white privilege.

Now I don't think anyone should give up their rights of autonomy or ability to decide who can touch them.

The problem I've been having is how the media is only talking about this as excessive, horrifying, traumatizing. Yet, when it comes to a black girl in Dallas being thrown to ground none of those verbs were used. Same goes for the black girl in SC that was thrown to the ground while sitting in at her desk. There are one or two articles about those attacks that use similar verbiage.

When I watched the video of that white boy being patted-down. I think it's gross, but that kid was lucky as it only lasted two minutes. He wasn't injured or had any broken bones. No one is telling the child and his mother they shouldn't have brought his laptop on the flight. As the laptop is what set off a bomb scanner and caused the TSA to pat the child down.

Last December Angela Rye an on-air CNN personality filmed and complained about in her word a "vaginal pat-down". Other than foreign press and left wing news web-site the story went nowhere. If she was white it would have been a firestorm of coverage and social media discussion.

Black and Brown people don't get handled so gingerly. Here are just a few titles I found about the four incidents I've referenced.

Wasn't saying it needed more coverage, just calling out the tone of that coverage. rogue emissary Mar 2017 #2

There was also quite a bit of social media discussion about it.
