expect or is expecting that Micheal Brown will get some form of justice by wilson getting charged with anything more than a slap on the wrist offense? This federal civil rights investigation saying no charges, I expected.

Too many people in charge are figuring out how to brush the entire case under a carpet.

Not I. I was in LA during the rodney king trial and riots. Same feeling here, except I expect not even a trial.

I was also in LA during the riots.

I wasn't shocked by the Rodney King beating. I had heard too many stories already.

The Gio aka Mr. Gen says "nope" and "Basta" which means "stop it" in a rude curt manner.

So two "Nopes!" from horse country NJ.

The Gio also agrees with Mr. Scorpio. This is America. In Italy he would be assumed guilty then have to prove his innocence.

At this point, I'm less and less sure that Wilson will be indicted; however, I'm pretty sure that his family will prevail in the wrongful death suit that is certain to follow.

I was/am not surprised that the DoJ won't be charging Wilson under civil rights ... they would have had to prove that Wilson shot Michael BECAUSE Michael was Black; and absent wilson's dropping the N-word immediately prior to pulling the trigger, that would be difficult to prove.

But back to the Justice question ... I am one that believes jailing someone is not "justice" for the victim ... and in this case, there is nothing that can serve as justice for Michael - he is dead. However, the wrongful death suit can force substantial change in the department, which can possibly prevent this from happening in the future.

Why would the DoJ not prosecute? Isn't Eric Holder still the AD? Isn't Barack Obama still president? If we have the power and don't use it what good is the power?

I don't care what this "new evidence" is, this cop needs to go down.

of justice in Ferguson.

In fact, I suspect the gov and DA want violence and want a reason to kill Black people by the hundreds.

with that gun. He can't be helped or hurt by anything done by grand juries in Ferguson.

I hope his family, friends, and neighbors can get some vindication and a small measure of peace, but I'm just not seeing it yet.

Will there be some changes made? Will they last?

I'd like to see the people of Ferguson assume political power in that community. The minority needs to be pushed from the dictatorship they're running in that town and that can only happen at the ballot box.

which has been proven beyond a doubt in that small enclave of racist depravity. Justice delayed is better than no justice at all. I won't blame ANY negative reaction on any person of conscience and/or color if that murdering executioner walks free. Period. Voting/Civil Rights Acts that were given to people of color 1964-65? They are being taken away and proven to be the window dressing they are. No, there WILL NOT be any lasting changes in Ferguson and it seems, amerikkka at large.......

that the minority cannot cheat. Cheating is really only plausible within the margins of error. They need to get the population to the polls the way they got them into the streets. First, though, they need candidates. They need to challenge every single politician holding every single job in that town. Then they need to get the community out to vote "the ticket."

The minority has held power in that town because the community hasn't had anyone to vote FOR. That needs to change.

believe what you may. Racists make it a lot harder for people of color to exercise their rights than you think, this has been proven over the last election cycle. I grew up in a time where these skills were being honed by the good, christians of RW amerikkka and believe me it's an art form. Even if the citizens of color in Ferguson, those without trumped up felonies, were to vote, I know, that no matter the shouts of vote fraud, the minority would hold on to their control of their area and of the people of color by using the rigged ballot box.....and whether you will admit it or not, that is amerika, 2014. Until the media becomes 'fair and balanced' again, until the huge influence of money is removed from the voting process, until ALL people of conscience start saying, NO MORE! Amerika will stay on it's path of decline and hate.

Because we are starting to see activity in GD on the topic.

We may have AA's at DU that don't feel comfy having the discussion in the larger group.
