The 13 most-targeted books in the U.S.

The American Library Association announced the top 13 books that are targeted in the U.S. “All the challenges are openly saying that young people should not be exposed to LGBTQ materials,” said the director of the ALA’s Office for Intellectual Freedom.

Gender Queer, a memoir by Maia Kobabe that explores gender identity and sexuality, was the most challenged book for the second year in a row.
George M. Johnson’s All Boys Aren’t Blue.
Flamer by Mike Curato.
Stephen Choosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
This Book is Gay by Juno Dawson.
Also included are Toni Morrison’s first novel, the 1970 release The Bluest Eye, which has been criticized for its references to rape and incest.
Sherman Alexie’s The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (sexual content, profanity).
Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Mist and Fury (sexual content).
