Zero Day

I on page 70 or so, and I baked pie this morning, turkey's ready in an hour or so, and I don't feel like having company cause I'd rather just finish reading this book. Over 400 pp.

Haven't had a good read from an American author for ages. I haven't read the latest Camel Club, but got po'd with Baldacci for killing off one of the club a few books ago. It's hard enough losing a real person or pet without these stupid authors killing off a character you like....

So if you're looking for a good mystery, try this one...

Did pies yesterday and daughter & son in-law made the meal. Best part they did the clean up too.

Maybe tonight you can get back to Zero Day? Is that a Baldacci book?

2. Yes....

But getting to another author I used to love - Craig Johnson. He had the audacity to kill off the big injun and I lost my taste for him.

There's no excuse for killing a fictional character and making people feel bad. He could have moved the guy to Saskatchewan or someplace.

Glad your dinner wa good. Have to go and start the gravy...

3. I KNOW, right?

on the Camel Club death. Hmmph.

Of course, I'm closing in on the end of the Aubrey/Maturin series, book 19, and *bang* there go TWO significant series characters. Jeesh. Good thing there's only 1.5 books left. Of course, I suppose in Napoleonic naval warfare, you have to expect some deaths along the way. At least with the Sharpe series is was mostly the poor young aides he kept being given. If they weren't already wearing red uniforms (the green being the actual Rifles), you'd accuse them of being red shirts, ala Star Trek.

4. The first 250 pages or so are okay....

but with each page past that, it got tedious. Just too long, and the rest of the book is uninspired, the plot is nonsense, and his relationship with the female is pitiful. It was corny. I'm thinking Mr. Baldacci is just too handsome to be a writer.
