This morning I finished A KING'S RANSOM by Sharon Kay Penman. It deals with Richard the Lion-Hearted

during his captivity and the last years of his reign.

As usual, she tells a great story. She portrays people of the medieval period as people of their time, not as
twenty-first century people with medieval clothes or armor on, but thinking like a modern person--as some historical
novelists are guilty of doing.

If you're into historical fiction, I highly recommend this book, as well as her other works.

I love historical fiction, and you sold me with the comment about the characters being portrayed as they should be for the time.
